emailed the following feedback: "All or most all of the applicants submitted
are excellent DBA''s. We are however, looking for someone with experience in
consulting, advising, reviewing/audits, along with hands on experience as
DBA. I did not see much of promising candidates meeting these requirements.
PLEASE focus your search on candidates that have mentored, consulted,
supervised, etc as a DBA rather than having the bulk of their experience
being hands-on.
PROJECT NAME: Oracle Enterprise 12c Upgrade
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This consulting position will work directly with the Applications manager
and the Oracle hosting services Manager responsible for planning and
implementing Oracle 12c on the Exadata and Exalogic platforms for 100+
legacy applications. They desires an expert level consulting resource to
coach the management and team members on strategies and tactics for the
successful implementation. They intend to adopt a DevOps approach for this
implementation with resources dedicated to the upgrade from both the
platform(s) and application layers.
25%: Oracle 12c Database and Middleware consulting
25%: Oracle Exa platform consulting
25%: Dev Ops implementation consulting
25%: Project Planning consulting
REQUIRED:
The ideal candidate will bring with them a toolset which the state can use
for analysis of applications to identify and address potential pain points
in an Oracle Exadata / 12c upgrade.
Expertise of migration and consolidation of Oracle Databases
on to Exadata
Upgrade from Oracle 11g to 12C Pluggable Databases on Exadata
Extensive database administration experience with Oracle 11g
and 12c databases
Expertise in performance tuning
Expertise in Oracle Exadata Database Machine architecture
Unix/Linux: Advanced
Exadata/Exalogic Platform: Advanced
Oracle RDBMS/Fusion Middleware: Advanced
DevOps: Advanced
Experience within the following areas are required:
Large scale Oracle 12c upgrades for database and middleware
Conducting Exadata / Exalogic implementations
Working in a DevOps environment
