Position : Oracle Applications DBA
Location : Tempe, AZ
Duration : 6+ Months
Position''s General Duties and Tasks
Database Software, Instance Creation and Maintenance
Provide DB problem definition, analysis & tuning of performance problems specific to the application .
Monitor "Health" of Oracle Instance; take corrective action – communicate actions to Client DBA / take corrective action.
Provide monitoring and tuning for application-specific problems and take corrective action.
Maintain on-going management of database growth, disk requirements; Review/recommend hardware requirements for planned growth; communicate to Client.
Alter Oracle logical objects (tables, indexes, triggers, etc
Patching ,Refresh & Cloning activities.
MTP(move to production)
Application Specific Issues
Perform manual data changes in DB
User Administration (implementation of end-user database account policies and procedures as established by Client.
Support local-specific modifications to application scripts.
Support Client applications debug and problem resolution for PROD.
Support for Client programming / applications and Application Tuning.
Backup/Recovery
Coordinate Production DB Restores (real-time) with incumbent vendor.
Execute Database Restore/Recovery - with Client DBA consultation and Confirm Logical Data Integrity after Restore/Recovery.
Job Level Specific Duties
Collaborate with internal teams and interact with customers to find solutions for operational issues for global business units
Autosys monitoring and running, a 24/7 service that is export controlled ITAR
Design the set up and configuration of the Oracle software modules by applying industry best practices.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
8+ years of relevant experience.
Knows and consistently uses fundamentals of implementing and maintaining databases.
Fundamental knowledge of actual database definition, design, and configuration.
Knowledge includes experience on primarily standard databases along with exposure to more complex systems.
Competent to work in most phases of client server relational database management.
Strong oral, written and customer service skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
