Job Title: Networking Specialist (Number of Requirements - 3)

Location: Frankfort, KY

Duration: Long-term Contract



Must haves:

Looking for someone experienced with VMWare and Virtualization
3 years of genuine experience is requested

The AOC information & Technology Services Department is seeking two contract resources for the role of Network Specialist.

These positions will assist the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) with hardware health checks, deployment, and installation.



RESPONSIBILITIES

Rack mounting of server and networking equipment.
Cabling and labeling of data and electronic cables and devices.
Utilizing VMware vShpere, VMWare Center, and related tools to configure and migrate virtual machines.
Packing and preparing decommissioned equipment for return, surplus, or shipment.
Configuration and preparation of server and network equipment for deployment.
Deploying hardware to various locations statewide.
Confirming device connection.
Photographing installation configuration.
Administering site survey for future hardware deployment.
Resolving issues on site should any arise during installation/deployment.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

2+ years in any of the following areas: Information Technology, Installation Technician, Helpdesk – Tier 1+, Network Operations Center Technician



KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Ability to identify and troubleshoot defective equipment
Determine and resolve hardware issues prior to deployment
Possess network room knowledge and experience


ATTRIBUTES

Good interpersonal skills
Analytical / problem-solving skills
Good verbal and written communication skills (reporting issues)
Ability to follow directions and provide instructions as needed
Record-keeping skills (i.e., installers will record serial number, model number, courthouse, street address, county, network room number /locator, etc


TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND UNIQUE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

08:00 – 17:00 M-F
Occasional travel between training locations potentially required
Sitting or standing for extended periods of time
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components
Ability to lift 50+ lbs., operate hand truck and pallet jack in a warehouse environment
Should have a valid driver’s license, dependable vehicle, state required motor vehicle insurance and will be expected to travel statewide for the duration of the deployment project (2 months)
