Job Description :
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Troubleshoots and recommends/implements solutions on network, server and software issues including security.

a. Builds and maintains network, server and other server related peripherals.
b. Solve problems when a user or an automated monitoring system alerts/informs that a problem exists

2. Coordinates network and systems maintenance and provisioning activities. Facilitates vendor service and system upgrades with project management teams and users, as required, to ensure system availability.

3. Maintains network devices, servers, desktops and software programs including, but not limited to: VMware ESXi, VMware View, Active Directory, Exchange 2010, File Servers, DNS/DHCP Servers, SAN technologies, Microsoft Clustering, Group Policies, Web Filtering, Cisco routers/switches/firewalls.

4. Analyzes existing systems to ensure they offer adequate security and are effectively meeting the needs of the organization.

a. Coordinate with all areas of the organization to see that the system is working as optimally as it should. Analyze business requirements to identify where they can integrate new hardware, operating systems, or connectivity solutions.

5. Creates and maintains policies, standards, and procedures for IT systems.

a. Leads the design and review processes for new systems. Develop and document the proposed technical design for the integration and implementation of any new software, working across the IT department.
b. Thoroughly documents design, workflows, dependencies, etc.

6. Collaborates with IT staff, including systems administrator(s), project managers, software developers, & IT Operations.

7. Provides status updates on assigned projects and escalates project risks to management.

8. Performs other duties or special projects as required or assigned.



PERFORMANCE METRICS:

98% network (e-mail and phone system) uptime.
5 systems improvements are proposed per year.
Project issues are escalated to manager appropriately.
Clear and thorough documentation exists for all systems under purview.


QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certification:
BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent required.
Achievement of CCNA designation preferred.


Experience Required:
5+ years'' experience in computer networks & systems maintenance
5 + years'' experience with Network Administrator / Network Engineer duties
Strong Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, OSPF, & BGP
Experience with administering Cisco Switches, Firewalls, & F5 appliances
Experience with Cisco VoIP phone systems
Strong working knowledge of Windows Server Administration (2008, 2012, etc
Strong working knowledge of VMware ESXi & Horizon View
Strong working knowledge of SAN & vSAN architectures
Experience with formal Change Management
