Network & Voice Engineer


Unique Skills:
Current versions of Cisco Call Manager and Collaboration mandatory. Experience with Contact Center v11.x and phone deployment automation highly desired.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor''s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or technology related field preferred. Seven (7) years experience with mainstream Unified Communications Platforms or data network support and design.

Position Purpose:

Determine and support data and/or working service requirements for switched networks; implement network systems and subsystems and associated hardware and software.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

1. Monitor and evaluate network performance, reliability and scalability; troubleshooting and resolving network and security problems.
2. Execute Network Planning to manage growth and development by monitoring network performance, exploring performance improvement opportunities, and identifying future capacity needs.
3. Consult with users to devise network requirements, analyze project proposals, resolve conflicts between users, recommend favorable networking approaches, and expand network systems design.
4. Coordinate the maintenance and modification of network systems and provide guidance and technical support for LAN/WAN technologies, IT securities and network systems. Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
1. Strong skills in Cisco unified communications and collaboration architecture, experience with Cisco, Tandberg, Polycom infrastructure and cloud based solutions.
2. Experience with enterprise class network management/monitoring systems is desired (Solarwinds, Airwave, Spectrum, NetScout, etc.
3. Understanding of data center facilities management, equipment racking and cabinets, network cabling (structured, patching, metallic,.
4. Experience with network security practices and devices (Cisco, Palo Alto, Checkpoint), data center and low-latency network infrastructure (Cisco, Arista, Juniper), packet sniffer operation and packet dissection (Sniffer, Ethereal, tcpdump, libpcap
5. Deep comprehension of networking concepts including network design principles, data flow determination, routing, switching, VLANs, IP addressing, etc.
6. Solid understanding of advanced networking technologies, virtualization technologies, and solutions including MPLS, virtual route forwarding, virtual device contexts, multicast routing, policy-based routing, ether-channel, QoS, traffic-shaping, load balancing, VPN tunnels, WAN Optimization, etc.
7. Position may require industry certification and skills training requirements.
