Position: Network Engineer/Architect (Local only – onsite required)

Location: Atlanta, GA

Duration: 12 month contract

Interview: Phone then F2F

Visa: H1B,EAD GC,GC o USC





This is a Network Engineer in an Architect type tole
Education
Degree is preferred NOT required
Network routing protocols and voice experience must be strong
Load balancing experience is a big plus
F5 is the LB of choice
ASA firewall experience is also a nice to have
This will be primarily Design
All the engineers are at least at level 4
This is who the NEs come to for help
Scripting is a nice to have but not necessary
Architect piece
Coming up with framework and patterns for network and designs that would be followed by others
They will design but have project engineers that will arrange the data
Most of the task they do are Engineering task – there is a grey area between Engineer and Architect
They MUST have a very strong Engineering background – this is NOT a straight up Architect (see line above)
Certs are a plus but he does not get hung up on these
Team size
8 engineers on the team now
They are down 3 positions now (only 1 is contract)

Responsibilities:



Candidate will work as a member of a group responsible for architecture and design of IP data and telecommunications network connectivity within the NS enterprise. Candidate should have an advanced understanding of architecture and design issues in a complex enterprise network.



Various projects and areas of responsibility include the following: WAN/LAN network architecture, 802.11 wireless infrastructure, conventional and VoIP telephony, IP addressing, mobile networking, network services (e.g. DNS/DHCP), Internet/DMZ/VPN environments, videoconferencing, network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS), as well as network monitoring, management, and performance tools and methods. Depending on the project, some travel and/or overtime work may be required.



A significant part of the required daily activities involves documentation related to technical standards and network design as well as project management and change management methodologies.



Qualifications:



Candidate will satisfy the majority of the following list of qualifications.



Six years experience in an architect, design and/or project implementation role for a large enterprise network.
Hands-on experience with Cisco network hardware including routers, switches, and security appliances
Knowledge and experience with networking protocols and configurations including OSPF, BGP, HSRP, multicast, SIP, QoS, VLANs, and MPLS.
Experience with wireless and mobile networking
Experience with design and implementation of data center networks, including blade server environments and server virtualization.
Experience with design and implementation of telephone systems and related voice technologies
Experience with the design of physical networks including fiber and copper cabling
Knowledge and experience with network management systems
Familiarity with operating systems (Cisco IOS, LINUX, Windows) and scripting languages
Ability to work effectively alone and as a member of a team to complete assignments
Must have the initiative to create structure and definition around a project, and to drive it through to successful completion
Experience in project management methodology
Ability to maintain focus on multiple projects concurrently
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
