Job Title: Network Engineer

Position Comments: Position is focused on Datacenter Facilities (Space, Power and Interconnect Management) and Financial aspects of these facilities

Summary:
Responsible for supporting the Deployment Engineering team in regard to the design, implementation, operational support of the Company internet protocol network. Position will require knowledge of Datacenter facilities and involve tracking of space, power and interconnect as well as assuring 5 year requirements are planned for. The position also involves financial planning and budgeting for overall year to year plan of record. Coordinate with third party vendors in installation/de-installation of network infrastructure. A solid background in understanding Datacenter facilities is required. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. Ability to lead projects and shares expertise.

Core Responsibilities:
Generally requires 5-10 years related experience and having an advanced understanding of MSO (Multiple-System Operator) infrastructure, combined with a solid technical background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; this resource is responsible for coordinating and implementing all requirements maintaining Network Infrastructure in Comcast Leased space.
Knowledge in planning Datacenter space is required with related project management. Will also require adaptability in the configuration of routers.
Ability to interpret Engineering Designs and extract relevant network elements for identifying new equipment, affected elements and complete connectivity requirements. Create Network Maintenance tickets associated with Service Affecting and Non-Service Affecting activity and accurately identifying all affected circuits.
Adaptability with various Inventory Databases and Applications are required for this position to support agile strategic business initiatives while ensuring all data entered is accurate and complete.
Able to demonstrate technical leadership and follow process and procedures directions as a primary technical resource on the Backbone Deployment Engineering team. Ability to advise on improvements to processes to adjust for lean and agile focus.
Builds and maintains ongoing relationships with the regions and local markets and vendors.

Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Education Level:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent work experience
Field of Study: Engineering, Computer Science

Certifications Advised:
CIENA OME 6500 Cert, CCNA and CCNP
