Location: Hartford, CT area (some US & Global Travel may be required)
Duration: 6 Month RTH

Job Description:
The Network Engineer works as a member of the Global Network Operations & Technology (GNS) group and is responsible for planning, designing and implementing high-availability networks for multiple business units. The position is technical and requires skill depth in several key network technology areas including; routing, switching, wireless, security, and WAN acceleration. The position will focus on project work in support of global IT objectives. Technical operational work including: Corporate Data Center support, LAN, WAN, WLAN, WAAS equipment configuration and deployment, troubleshooting and support of remote sites.

Responsibilities:
Configure Cisco routers for various WAN technologies, including; MPLS, private line, and Dynamic Multiport VPN (DMVPN
Configure and support Cisco Catalyst switches.
Contribute to standards-based and scalable architecture/design of systems for global deployment.
Install and support wireless LAN’s using secure authentication methods on plant floors and administrative areas.
Install and configure Cisco WAE/WAVE WAN acceleration devices and troubleshoot client to server performance issues.
Test new technology in a lab environment, and write architecture and deployment guides for the business.
Prioritize critical deliverables while meeting all other assigned duties.
Work with other team members on shared assignments and organization goals/objectives.
Provided 3rd level support escalation and on-call off-hours support on a 5-week rotational basis.
May require some domestic and international travel, as well as occasional weekend and holiday work.
Some heavy lifting, up to 70 pounds, may also be required.

Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on Network Engineering experience with Cisco routers and switches.
Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP, DMVPN, WCCP, and QoS.
Strong working knowledge of and experience managing DNS and DHCP protocols.
Strong working knowledge of firewalls, access control lists and route maps.
Good working knowledge of VLANs, trunking, EtherChannel, and UTP/fiber cabling standards.
Ability to troubleshoot complex performance problems involving network and application teams using Netflow and packet capture tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing experience involving architecture and deployment guides.
Independent thinker and worker that can operate in multiple countries with minimal guidance/direction.
Experience with Cisco Nexus platform a plus.
CCNA / CCNP Cisco Certifications highly preferred.
Bachelor''s degree is required, technical degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred.
