Position Summary:

This position is directly responsible for Cisco ASA VPN operations, Cisco WLC environment and internal Application Load balancing. The position includes knowledge of routing, switching and firewalls at a CCNP level. Project management skills interacting with all levels of management.

This position is critical to the operations of multiple technical environments that support production application for all of PennDOT. The VPN environments consist of remote access, construction field site connectivity via EasyVPN and Site to Site VPN for business partners that support several hundred businesses. This position requires an experienced engineer to be able to properly manage systems of this size and complexity.


Hardware(Cisco):
2960/3850 switches required
3900/4300 series routers required
ASA firewalls/VPN, Firewall required
Identity Services Engine (ISE) required
Wireless Access Points (all models) required
6500/4500 series desired
Nexus platform switches 9k series desired
ASR platform desired


Protocols, configurations, technologies, etc.:
TCP/IP, IPSEC, GRE, OSPF, BGP, DMVPN, VSS, VRF and VRF Lite, QOS, MPLS, Ethernet, VOIP, routing, switching, load balancing, VLAN, SVI, TACACS


Applications:
Cisco PRIME, Cisco IOS, Microsoft Office, Visio, Remedy, LibreNMS, Solar Winds Orion


Position Overview:
This position is part of a team of network engineers responsible for Design, installation, configuration, and management of the above related Cisco hardware.

In addition to technical duties described above the candidate must also be able to:
Communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal communications.
Utilizing Microsoft Office and or Visio document any network changes and procedures as necessary.
Provide and develop project documentation.
Work in a team environment using Remedy change tracking software.
Demonstrate ability to establish and meet work schedules within limited time frames, under tight deadlines.
Work off hours as the need arises in support of changes to the network.
Be proficient in effective problem solving and multi-tasking between multiple projects.
Working Conditions:
Work is normally performed from a PennDOT office located in Harrisburg PA during a standard 40 hour work week.
Some weekend, shift work, holiday, on-call, and overtime may be required.
At times work may require travel to and from the various PennDOT locations throughout the state of Pennsylvania.
