Job Description:
The position is responsible for supporting network operations at 3 different data centers with 5 different environments. The network engineer provides technical support in a production operations environment, and have thorough knowledge of multiple network device technologies. This engineer will perform complex operational tasks that include support of various types of applications used in a web infrastructure, analysis of the root cause of any problem issues, resolution of any application problems, and escalation of any irresolvable issues to the vendor as necessary. On-call and weekend work is expected. Support 24x7x365 environment. Local support of the data centers is required.

Typical Duties:
General maintenance, troubleshooting and root cause analysis for network incidents in the environment
Resolve all network issues assigned to the network team
Drive problem resolutions to ensure business continuity
Improve quality and ensure consistent and timely resolution of incidents
Implement necessary steps to prevent future incidents
Audit network devices to confirm network policies and guidelines meet or exceed targets for successfully audits
Perform change management (CM) role on all network devices. Implement network change requests based on CM processes
Design and build all network solutions according to client requirements on time and within budget
Review and validate design of network systems
Install, upgrade and maintain all network components
Document processes in accordance with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) requirements
Works with minimal direction from the technical lead and with customer nominated representatives to accomplish assigned tasks.
Participates as part of a team and maintains good relationships with team members and customers.
Understands the company strategy and the role that the individual plays.
Uses knowledge tools and re- uses information for the benefit of projects, and of professional development.

Experience Required:
Knowledge building and managing of F5 LTM/GTM load balancers (DNSSEC experience preferred)
Knowledge of firewall administration (Checkpoint and Juniper preferred)
knowledge of switching and routing commands (Cisco preferred)
Cisco IOS routers (1002x) and Cisco IOS and Nexus OS switches (3560x, 4500x, 5548 and 2248 Nexus FEX )
Knowledge of any of the following protocols OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, VLAN, and TCP/IP
Extensive history of documented troubleshooting skills relating to desktops, servers, network and firewalls
Experience troubleshooting and maintaining various types of cabling
Ability to create and/or maintain Visio Network diagrams
Follow-up and attention to detail with great customer service skills
Professional, responsible attitude and work independently
Extensive written documentation (processes, user guides)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with remote, matrixed teams
Ability to work effectively in a team, and with clients

Knowledge and Skills Required:
Cisco switch, routers, firewalls
BigIP F5 load balancers
Juniper routers firewalls
Checkpoint managers and endpoints

Education and Experience:
3 – 5 years of technical experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, two additional years of relevant professional experience (5-7 years in total
