Biogensys is currently hiring for a Network Engineer

Job Description:
Applies technical expertise to solve complex network situations that require considerable independent discretion and judgment.
Designs or makes recommendations for network design.
Conceives a variety of solutions to functional problems and reduces abstract ideas to easily understood procedures.
Participates in the establishment of a growth plan for the network to insure the best quality service.
Plans, carries out, oversees and applies advanced technical skills and independent analysis to network installation projects including complex software and hardware installations and relocations.
Analyzes specifications and general instructions to develop appropriate systems.
Manages project activities and schedules, determines and procures network equipment and supplies.
Provides network support, monitors and tunes networks for optimal performance including performing scheduled preventative maintenance, monitors systems for unauthorized activities and alerts management to security issues.
Acts as the primary interface with equipment vendors for resolving problems.
Reviews existing policies and procedures to identify potential gaps, problems or opportunities for improvement and develops recommendations.
Recognizes and identifies when new policies and procedures need to be established to support changes including future business expansion.
Researches best practices, develops and drafts proposed changes.
Analyzes, interprets, and presents research findings on network management best practices, configurations, equipment, and future trends.

Skills Required:
Must have solid proficiency with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects of varying complexity is essential.
Must have the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Must have the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Must have the ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
Considerable knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques used in managing information technology systems design projects necessary. Position requires strong knowledge of strategic planning, action planning, and project management principles.
Must have the ability to lead and manage technical teams in the delivery of projects and services toward a common vision.
Knowledge of principles of business system analysis, including the analysis of procedures, equipment, and methods; firewalls and (ASA, Checkpoint), Network Load Balancers, and VoIP; expert level knowledge of secure network switching and routing at an enterprise level, wiring and cabling, and network management, and information technology systems design and programming.
Ability to apply technical expertise to solve complex network situations that require considerable independent discretion and judgment.
Ability to analyze, interpret, and present research findings.
Ability to analyze specifications and instructions to develop appropriate systems and programs required.
Ability to conceive a variety of solutions to functional problems, reduce those solutions to executable actions, and make actions easily understood to information technology professionals is required.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, vendors, and users required.
Ability to evaluate and resolve customer problems and issues.

Experience preferred

Project Management Experience
Education Required:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field and 3 years of experience with wide and local area networks including experience with common-carrier data network.
An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and job-related experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year for year basis.
