Job Title: Network Architect

Required Skills:
Cisco routing and switching, BGP and OSPF and Cisco VoIP experience. The resource needs to be able to be the primary admin for the CUCM Cluster and have the ability to work on network engineer projects. Needs to have experience with CUCM 11.0 or 11.5

Additional Skills:
Load Balancing and Firewalls experience - Checkpoint

ROLE PURPOSE:
Plans, designs and implements enterprise network infrastructure. Supports and troubleshoots network issues. Coordinates installation of circuits and equipment in a global 7x24x365 hour environment. Acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all networking technologies and practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides reliable, efficient, and secure network design and engineering.
Operates as a primary technical resource on the architecture, implementation, management and maintenance for all networking systems, hardware and software.
Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots all networking hardware, software, and circuits.
Provides proactive process improvement, analysis of best practices, identification and mitigation of network risk.
Ensures operational procedures are well documented, staff is trained, and procedures are followed.
Analyzes performance trends, identifies workflow or technology gaps, and recommends changes in an effort to improve the quality and efficiency of networks and systems.
Utilizes enterprise level thinking to enhance security and stability of the network environment.
Effectively works as a teammate and communicates following the escalation process.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
In depth, technical knowledge of networking including: TCP/IP, Fiber Channel, DNS, IPSec, SSL, HTTP, SNMP, NAC, WiFi, VoIP, Windows, and Linux operating systems.
High level of experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers, switches, NXOS, SAN, Cisco/Checkpoint firewalls, F5 load balancers, VPNs, application firewalls, WAN optimization devices, reverse proxies, dynamic DNS servers, and SSL certificates.
Proven skills administering a campus and global networking environment including MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and DHCP.
Strong understanding of network monitoring/management tools such as Solarwinds, NetScout, HP Openview, SCOM, etc.
Familiarity with ITIL framework.
Strong skills in troubleshooting complex technical networking problems.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Strong lead and team building abilities
Strong decision-making and analytical abilities
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of management, vendors, service providers and consultants.
Proven ability to balance priorities and resources to make sound decisions in a demanding environment.
Ability to complete efforts with minimal direction and guidance.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
5 years’ experience in managing Cisco, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Riverbed and F5 products in a large-scale environment.
7 years’ experience working in a mission critical 7x24X365 data center and Global WAN environment.
3 years’ experience in in a lead technical capacity in the networking/telecommunications area.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND CERTIFICATIONS:
B.S. in Computer Science, Networking or equivalent experience.
Cisco certifications preferred but not required.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
PC usage up to 100% of the time, ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
Shared on-call responsibilities on a 7x24x365 basis.
After hours work as required.
Travel required around Denver area, less than 10% of times spent outside Denver area. Occasional out of state or international travel.
