Position: Sr. Red hat System Admin.
Location: Denver CO
Duration: 4-6 month contract.

General Description of the Engagement:

· The client is using state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies to deliver and improve the systems, applications and operations that they deliver. The client promotes and enjoys progressive leadership which is fostering initiatives such as automation, “DevOps”, software-defined datacenter, SDLC management, Private/Hybrid/Public Cloud and HA/DR initiatives.
· The client is looking for a Linux / Ansible engineer to join their Technology Services team for a short-term implementation engagement. The position will play a fundamental role in designing and implementing several foundational IT services while driving a cultural change as well. This role will primarily be focused on Ansible, Ansible Tower Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Identity Management, and various other process automation tasks.
· Utilizing their experience, the ideal candidate will collaborate with Operations, Applications, Security and Network teams to implement solutions following best practices and standards, mentor junior staff members, and establish processes and documentation supporting these solutions.

Expected Responsibilities:

· Implement Ansible Tower in a green-field environment
· Convert our existing CFengine implementation to Ansible playbooks
· Built playbooks to automate tasks such as new server deployments, drive expansions, application installations, user add/modify/delete, iptables changes and lock down configuration drift
· Implement Red Hat Identity Management in a green-field environment
· Analyze current processes and identifying efficiency improvements
· Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to collect and validate information about current state environments
· Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to collect design requirements for future state systems and processes
· Serve as a mentor to junior team members, contributing to studies and proposals, generate intellectual capital, providing training as necessary and building and maintaining trusted relationships with co-workers and peers
· Keep senior leadership abreast of strategies and roadmaps, project timelines and deliverables and issues as they arise
· Perform operational support duties on Linux systems as needed

Qualifications:
· A bachelor''s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Science, or Operations Management preferred.
· Interpersonal and leadership skills – elicitation, collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
· Analytical and conceptual thinking skills with innovative capacity.
· Ability to handle complexity and ambiguity, and provide structure to complex problems
· Proven written and verbal communication skills. Experience in soliciting key data; transmitting information accurately and understandably.
· Ability to effectively present and explain information to various group sizes and levels of knowledge.
· History in adaptive personal skills, adapting to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, and ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
· Demonstrated ability to prioritize and plan work activities, using time efficiently and developing realistic action plans.
· Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information and records with a high degree of discretion, diligence, and good judgment.
· Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and monitors own work to ensure quality, presents complex architectural models and technical approaches and decisions effectively.
· Ownership of assigned tasks from initiation through completion

Education Requirement:

· Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a directly related field preferred. Certifications in technologies pertaining to the job duties may be substituted.

Experience Requirement:
· Five (5) years of managing Linux servers preferred. Documented proficiency with Ansible, Ansible tower and Red Hat Identity Management required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Red Hat certifications a plus
