MI Business Analyst

Responsibilities

The Business Analyst will:

Engage with global, regional, and local SME’s to identify requirements across all spectrums of data insights (sales/pipeline, profitability, portfolio management, claims
Construct a detailed set of global MI requirements building on existing high level documentation. This will include defining a global data dictionary and methodology of calculations.
Review current reporting used in regions to assess against this global standard. Document where gaps exist and work with the business to identify whether the required data exists.
Participate in IT development process and supply business specifications for enhancements to existing systems or new BI development.
Assist in managing interim reporting until such time as robust solutions exist.
Liaise with Client’s Predictive Modelling unit who will be working on initiatives to provide interim business insights until such time as stable MI/BI is available.
Qualifications
Mandatory
Sound comprehension of KPI’s and metrics relevant to insurance industry.
7-10 years’ experience as Business Analyst or equivalent business role (i.e. Underwriter, Product management)
Minimum 4 years’ experience working on MI/BI projects for large insurance companies.
Understanding of good practice within the MI domain to be able to ensure deliverables are robust and future proofed.
Ability to articulate concepts to business users
Strong (clear and concise) communication skills
Fluency in written & spoken English
Ability to work as a self-starter with good personal workload management
Ability to lead requirement workshops, shape & guide user discussions and manage potentially competing stakeholders
Good presentation skills and personal credibility adequate to operate effectively at different levels in the organization
Experience of a range of Analysis Techniques ideally including techniques suited to Waterfall & Agile projects
Experience of working across borders, ideally globally.
Proven ability to work with mid-size data sets and provide one-off insights.
Bachelor’s Degree required / MBA Preferred
Must have current passport and be able to travel without restriction to Europe and Mexico/Latin America
Ability to occasionally attend teleconferences before or after normal working hours to accommodate our global workforce in other time-zones.
Preferred
Experience with Accident & Health business line of insurance company
Ability to speak a second language (Spanish) is a strong plus
Proficiency with SQL, SQL client tools, and data modeling
Data Visualization experience with tools such as Qlikview, Tableau, etc.
