Position: Hadoop Architect

Data and Integration Management for Hadoop/Azure/Cloudera Environments. Based on defined use cases for the data determine how to best store the data and architecture for analytics and reporting. Will be responsible for at least 2 Hadoop Developers.
Work with the customer and end-users to define application and technical requirements. Ensure that these requirements tie back to the established customer requirements and performance goals and that the technical direction is consistent with the client’s long-term strategy.
Fully understand the capabilities and limitations of the technical environments that come with any packaged software used by the project.
Review and integrate all application requirements, including functional, security, integration, performance, quality, and operations requirements. Review and integrate the technical architecture requirements for the development, execution, and operations environments. Make all final decisions regarding hardware, network products, system software, and security.
Lead the application and technical architecture analysis, design, and implementation, and ensure that the product fulfills the requirements. When applicable, work with the integration solution architect on these tasks.
Work with the support unit to determine how the application is supported in production, including back-ups, disaster recovery, system performance, and project management.
Obtain stakeholder buy-in for application and technical designs.
Review application and technical architecture deliverables throughout development to ensure quality and requirement traceability.
Own the design, build, and test of all technical architecture components/solutions (e.g., development, execution, and operations environment solutions
Perform hardware sizing and capacity planning as required to support the solution.
Add create and manage firewall requests for cluster communication
