Title: SQL SERVER ENGINEERS (NOT ADMINISTRATORS)
Location: Lincolnshire, IL
Duration: 6 Months C2H
This is a position for a SQL Server Infrastructure Engineer responsible for designing, developing and certifying infrastructure solutions for hosting and supporting SQL Server, improve automation for higher efficiency, evaluating new technologies and developing support toolkits, technical standards and operational procedures
Your impact as a Senior MS SQL Server Engineer
Job Responsibilities:
Acts as an expert technical resource to client and development staff for business led projects
Assist in defining and maintaining the product and technology strategy for MS SQL Server platform
Design, develop and certify infrastructure solutions for hosting and supporting SQL Server
Improve automation for higher efficiency
Operate SQL databases ensuring that systems are running with optimal availability, efficiency and recoverability.
You Bring Knowledge and Expertise
Required Experience:
Minimum 7 years of hands on DBA or infrastructure engineering experience working on MS SQL 2005 and later for large scale global deployment
Minimum 7 years of experience in Microsoft Operating Systems and enterprise level storage systems
Minimum 5 years of experience in implementing and supporting SQL server high availability and disaster recovery solutions
Expertise in designing and implementing infrastructure solutions for standardization and automation is required
Expertise in T-SQL and PowerShell scripting is required. Json and VB scripting is a plus
Exposure to BMC Patrol, Netbackup, EMC Avamar, HP Data Protector, DELL Spotlight, Idera is highly preferred
Exposure to enterprise level network infrastructure and firewall setup is preferred
Exposure to virtualization technology is preferred
SQL Server Certification is a plus
Understand and implement to meet audit and compliance standards, procedures, and controls in a Sarbanes-Oxley and SAS 70 influenced environment
Excellent written and verbal communications skills are necessary.
Highly organized, structured, and process oriented.
Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to collaborate with internal and external business/technical teams.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in information Systems, Computer Science or related technical discipline required; advance degree is a plus.
