We are looking for a strong eCommerce Java/J2EE developer with exposure to web based J2EE technologies. The successful applicant will work with highly skilled J2EE
Developers and other teams within the business to deliver successful Client projects. They will be involved in developing a variety of application types using Java and
J2EE including coding new applications from predefined program specifications, performing the maintenance and modification of programs currently in production and the
opportunity to work with some of the latest and emerging technologies.
Responsible for the delivery and support of a large number of high profile web applications which require someone of excellent technical ability looking to make their
mark in this diverse and expanding team.
eCommerce Java / J2EE Developer Requirements:
Mandatory Experience:
Must have eCommerce experience
Full project lifecycle experience in delivering complex Internet based applications
Solid core Java programming skills – J2EE 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6
Experience with J2EE development: Hibernate, Servlets, Struts, Spring.
Experience of Web Service development and good knowledge of REST, SOAP, HTTP protocols
Experience of Web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JQuery, JSON
Experience of AJAX technologies to support/implement Web 2.0 user interactions
Working knowledge of Apache Tomcat preferred but other platforms accepted
Deployment knowledge for one or more of the major J2EE application server platforms, including use of Maven or Ant a plus
Good SQL skills experience with MySQL Cluster preferred but also MySQL and Oracle
Familiar with Unix based systems (Solaris, HPUX, BSD, Linux)
eCommerce Java / J2EE Developer Skills:
Working knowledge of Eclipse preferred but other IDE platforms accepted alongside version control systems (e.g. CVS, Subversion
Working knowledge of MySQL Cluster, MySQL preferred but other major RDBMS solutions accepted.
Understanding of object oriented concepts.
XML/XSLT parsers, XPath, XML Beans, JDOM
Jakarta libraries such as Log4J, Commons, ANT and JUnit
JMS and message queues such as IBM''s MQ Series or equivalents beneficial.
Exposure to content management systems technology, e.g. CQ5, Interwoven
Certification & Training:
Sun Java Certification or other vendor certifications preferred
Java Software Engineer, J2EE Software Developer, Java Programmer, Java Ecommerce Developer.
