Technical Job Description:
The Investments IT Global Core Data Services group is responsible to provide technology solutions and support for Client Investments end to end data requirements covering reference and market data, data warehouse, reporting and business intelligence solutions.
Core data services group is seeking individuals with relevant software development experience who will assist with designing and building data virtualization solutions for Investments IT global platform. Individual in this role will be responsible for overall design of the data virtualization and integration platform, which maps to the enterprise architecture and balances the need for data availability and time to market against security and performance requirements.
Duration: ~1 year and extendable depending on future requirements;
Start Date: November
1st Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for creating, analyzing and review of data virtualization architecture domain/solution architecture.
Defines and develops the system components, services, and interfaces required to implement data virtualization solution that represents an intersection of elements from client’s Investment’s Data and Application domains to address specific business opportunity or problem.
Maintains related project documents and/or architecture artifacts
Collaborates with application architects to ensure integrity of solution architecture
Partners with application development teams in designing, validating and implementing proposed solutions
Maintains broad and deep understanding of multiple technologies, reference architectures and business applications of data virtualization
Ensures existing data/information assets are identified, analyzed and leveraged optimally in building future state data distribution platform.
May provide technical guidance to associates on Cisco Information Server (CIS formerly known as Composite) platform usage and solution development.
Responsible for the development of horizontal solutions for projects/programs
Essential Skills: Required:
12+ years of IT industry work experience focused on database and application solutions
10+ years of experience in database design, development and integration solutions
Strong Experience with Cisco Information Server (CIS formerly known as Composite) data virtualization technology implementation
Minimum 3 years of hands on experience building enterprise data virtualization solutions for integration preferably on Cisco Information Server (CIS formerly known as Composite) platform
Strong Experience with relational database technologies which includes: working knowledge of SQL, knowledge of relational database design, performance and tuning experience
Experience in Data warehouse concepts and ETL processes
Experience in Query Performance Optimization for large and complex data Sets
Well versed with cache database configuration at server and database level
Ability to develop Data Virtualization Views, Base Views, Derived Views, Projection, Selection, Union, Minus, Flatten Views, Interface, Associations, Web Services
Usage of Interpolation Variable or Parameterized Query, Procedure, Custom Functions, Packaged Query, Package, Trigger and XQuery Transformations
Demonstrated ability to understand, analyze and apply abstract architectural concepts
Demonstrated inter-personal and consultative skills to work with business and IT stakeholders
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to work simultaneously on multiple large, complex projects
Broad knowledge of data virtualization and integration technologies and design patterns
Preferred:
Advanced knowledge of multiple architecture disciplines, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.
Financial industry experience and knowledge is a plus.
