Job Description:

? Monitoring the backup master and media server performance and have taken necessary steps.
? Performing day to day activities including DB restore and file system restores.
? Was part of a design and build team, provided help in installing and configuring new servers.
? Installation, Configuration, Administration and troubleshooting of Basic & Dynamic Disks using Disk Management.
? Was also responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting NetBackup backup jobs.
? Administrating the Backup environment using CommVault backup software V8, V9, V10, V11.
? Setting up data duplication disk pools and tape backup devices.
? Responding quickly and effectively to backup issues and outages.
? Responsible for escalated issues on restore requests.
? Reporting and escalating the unresolved issues.
? Preparing backup reports and send out to client on daily basis.
? Installation, Configuration, Administration and basic Troubleshooting of Active Directory.
? Implementing Network Load Balancing Cluster environment using Microsoft cluster services (Server 2003 and 2008
? Provide help in installing CommVault on windows machines to server team.
? Configuring the SQL, Exchange, Oracle.
? Backup jobs for Linux and windows servers.
? Troubleshooting daily backup failure and pending backup jobs.
? Responsible for working on Incident, change and Service request tickets within the SLA period.
? Responsible for providing on-call support during the non-business hours (Weekends
? Vendor co-ordination for any kind of hardware in tape library and fixing the issue without breaching SLA.
? Responsible for preparing SOP documents and providing Knowledge based training to team members.
? Perform Backups, Archival and restoration.
? Firmware upgrade for Drives and Library.
? Working on tape drives issues and robots issues.
? Freezing and Unfreezing of the media based on the requirement.
? Decommissioning the client servers from policies based on approvals.
? Giving and taking handovers from onshore team and communicating with customer on periodical basis.
? Performed Disaster recovery activities. Handling Media & Tape Management
? Handing on-off technical issues to other technical teams for resolution.
? Working on the basis of ITIL process and remedy 7.0 ticketing systems, managing incidents, looking after daily severity calls raised by the clients and operations team.
? Patching backup software and install/configure backups.
? Perform Test Restoration every week.
? Monitor backups on daily basis.
? Generate backup''s reports on a daily basis.
? Remote Data centre Management - Raising Requests for Remote Hands, Access and Delivery.
? Troubleshooting communication/functional issue against the Tape Libraries, Media Agents and Commserve.
? Providing Operational support on a 24*7 rotation basis.
