Description:
The Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician will have at least five (5-7) years’ experience with analyzing network and computer communications hardware characteristics and recommending equipment procurement, removals and modifications. This role will be responsible for extensive configuring, troubleshooting and can be successful in the follow areas.

Responsibilities:
Extensive experience with Interior Gateway Routing Protocols (IGPs) such as: OSPF and EIGRP.
Mid-level experience with BGP: configuring peering relationships, troubleshooting BGP issues and understanding BGP path selection.
Extensive experience with switching: VLAN trunking (including VTP), Spanning Tree, global switch configuration, management protocols, etc.
Extensive knowledge of: Cisco VPC and VSS configuration and troubleshooting as it pertains to switching on the Cisco Nexus platform.
Mid-level experience with WAN technologies such as SD-WAN, MPLS, VPLS and iWAN.
Specific in-depth understanding of: VPN configuration over geographically dispersed WAN sites, DMVPN v2 and v3, SD-WAN concepts; advanced knowledge of routing concepts for WANs such as BGP peering (both iBGP and eBGP) and selecting, configuring and troubleshooting OSPF and EIGRP as it relates to inter-site routing.
Experience with route redistribution from an IGP to an EGP using route-maps and controlling path-selection by way of traffic engineering. Finally, working knowledge of MPLS and VPLS WAN technologies from a CE to PE perspective.
Mid-level experience with security as it relates to router and switch hardening, correct use of data-in-transit traffic encryption technologies, PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), KMS (Key Management Services), proper use of keyrings and general knowledge of defense-in-depth protection strategies.
Mid-level experience with operating network management tools and understanding network reporting.
Experience with configuring a variety of remote access VPN solutions with Multi-Factor Authentication such as Cisco AnyConnect, JunOS Pulse and OpenVPN (w/ Google Auth soft token
High-level of understanding of troubleshooting methodologies.
Candidate should also be highly motivated, very organized and can multitask.
Qualifications
Required:
A minimum of a Bachelor''s degree in a scientific/technical or related discipline and 1-3 years of experience of equivalent experience of 5-7 years
Configures, monitors, troubleshoots and maintains mid to large size enterprise network infrastructures arranged in a variety of configuration.
Organizes and executes change requests based on ITIL best practices.
Configures VPNs and WAN overlay technologies such as SD-WAN as approved by principal or senior network architect.
Ability to work off hours, weekends, or night shift as required to support a 24 x 7 network operations center (NOC)
Configures remote access VPN. Configures and utilizes network management and monitoring tools.
Analyzes and implements communications standards and protocols according to site requirements.
