Job Decscription:
Have knowledge of protocols, topologies and technologies (HTTP, SNMP, TCP/IP, FTP, TDM, DWDM, SONET, WAN, LAN, Ethernet, ATM, etc
Have a working knowledge of TCP/IP.
Have knowledge of path and trunking.
Have the ability to interpret and write concise technical reports
Have knowledge of and be able to use standard MS Office applications and understand Visio and CAD drawings.
Assess performance levels of system hardware and software to project future needs, and develop short and long term plans for updating equipment
Monitor telecommunications systems to assess need for updates, upgrades, enhancements, preventive maintenance and or replacement systems.
Determine the type and arrangement of circuits, transformers, circuit-breakers, transmission lines and related equipment
Determine appropriate configurations of telecommunications hardware and software to ensure desired performance of telecommunications equipment
