Job Description:
Experience administering MySQL and Oracle databases in public cloud
Design, develop, and implement Oracle database instances for web and enterprise applications
Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) - basic knowledge of EC2, VPC, RDS, DMS, S3 and important AWS services
Database infra structure support experience on Linux/Windows
Perform database monitoring, maintenance, reorganizations, resource management, schema management, and capacity planning and performance tuning for the databases
Modifying the database structure, develop failover strategy, back up strategy
Experience handling disaster recovery and business continuity
Optimize database performance, ensure data integrity and security
Data security, auditing and PII compliance
Automate database related routine jobs through any scripting language
Work with various internal teams such as DevOps & network administration teams to coordinate and troubleshoot infrastructure related issues
On-call for production databases - daily maintenance, monitoring, problem resolution and internal customer/dev support
Ability to learn new technologies and recommend solutions to client
Ability to lead technical projects/assignments and drive them to completion
Ability to drive tasks to completion and take ownership of projects/assignments
Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion
Communicate with clients regarding maintenance, incidents, and projects
Participates in staff and status meetings
Take responsibility for their level of service provided
Transition the existing/expected new application portfolios to offshore regularly
Experience with additional database engines and technologies (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MS SQL Server, DynamoDB, Redshift) a strong plus
Experience with data conversion strategies on various databases (licensed model to open source RDBMS) through AWS technologies is a plus
Experience in building AWS infrastructure through Terraform is a plus
Knowledge of tools such as Service Now, Datadog, AppDynamics, GitLab, Jenkins
Basic knowledge/experience in heterogeneous migrations between different database platforms is a plus
