Job Title: Monitoring Engineer
Job Location: Alpharetta , GA
Candidate should be strong in either one of these ExtraHop or DataDog or Apica or Splunk or AppDynamics.
Enabling performance diagnostics and monitoring through the use of Application Performance Management (APM) tools, preferably AppDynamics.
Instrumenting large scale distributed applications with relevant monitoring
Configuring alerts, setting up dashboards and reports to provide ongoing visibility into the performance of applications.
Administration and understanding of Monitoring Tools'' architecture itself.
Liaison with Dev and Support teams on a regular basis with an overarching goal of continuously reducing MTTR.
Familiarity with multiple Monitoring tools in an enterprise setup such as DataDog, Splunk, Elk, ExtraHop would be extremely helpful
Collaborating with developers to promote the concept of Site Reliability Engineering.
Monitoring applications during performance tests or production usage/outage through the use of APM tools, identify root cause of issues.
Experience working in a DevOps environment. Familiarity with Chef, Puppet, ShellScript, etc.,
Participating in re-architecture, redesign, and refactoring decisions to satisfy changing operational requirements.
Flexible and adapt to ever changing priorities of the monitoring team.
Basics:
Bachelors in Computer Science or related field.
Minimum of 4 years'' hands-on experience with performance tuning, diagnostics or monitoring
Minimum of 2 years'' hands-on design / development experience (e.g. Java, .Net, etc
Minimum 1 year''s hands-on experience performance diagnostics tools (e.g. AppDynamics, Elk, ExtraHop, DataDog, Apica, Splunk, etc
