Position Description
Client has an immediate need for a Middleware Systems Administrator in Greenville, SC. If you have been working in the manufacturing industry, this is the chance to further advance your career.
Your future duties and responsibilities
The Middleware Systems Administrator is responsible for middleware components, specifically Websphere Application Server (WAS), Datastage, MQ Series, and Message Broker (MB The sysadmin will provide support for middleware changes and deployments related to projects. Responsibilities of the successful applicant include the following:

Create, update, and delete middleware instances such as creation of application servers, upgrade of drivers (e.g., JDBC, WMQ), application of certificates (e.g., SSL), management of access rights, and updates of configuration files for projects (e.g., .apt, .msh, tnsnames.ora, credentials.txt, .odbc.ini
Define and maintain a catalog of supported middleware components including versions and patch levels.
Install application instances linked to WAS middleware including resource creation (e.g., JDBC, MQ Series), and application components (e.g., import dsx, compile source, update DSParams
Install application objects linked to the Message Broker middleware (e.g., flows, datasources, custom libs
Perform stop/start operations as needed (at any level with approvals) to effect changes.
Perform functional application tuning to maintain daily operations and optimize performance as required (incident, performance issue
Ability to use or develop tools to automate maintenance, configuration changes, password changes, deployments and migrations of Websphere Middleware components.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in three or more of the following areas.
Jenkins tool
Datastage administration
Websphere application Server administration
Websphere Portal Administration
Message Broker administration
MQ Series administration
Unix/Aix Scripting
Data Power
Experience creating scripts (wsadmin, shell, perl, ant, Jython, Python, Jacl)
Experience with a formal change control process
Ability to work some non-standard shift hours in support of project deployments and/or production incidents.
Excellent written and oral communication
Attention to detail
Ability to work effectively with multiple teams – both internal and external
Knowledge of ITIL
Knowledge of Agile development methodology and practices
Knowledge of waterfall development methodology and practices
Understanding of how applications interact with middleware

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
