Description:
Descriptive Job Title: Engineer with experiences on working with the Java Application Servers: WebSphere Application Server Base and Network Deployments.
Engineer and build standard middleware runtime environment with web-server front-ending, security, logging and monitoring frameworks for Cloud environments.
Job Summary: Client Cloud Heritage Middleware Runtime team is responsible for the delivery of automation solutions for well-defined and widely adopted Web Server and Application Server runtimes.
The solutions span from Windows/Linux platforms to Cloud containers with end-to-end integrations with develop, build, runtime creation, deploy, configure, logging, as well as monitoring.
As an application server runtime engineer you are expected to work with WebSphere runtimes as well as front-ending IHS web server, and enable them in the cloud environment using Client Automation Service Portal.
The services are built with security, scalability, monitoring and easy-to-use for application developers.
You will work closely with the developers to build best practices around the development platforms runtimes and hence you would need to have a good development background in java.
You would work with internal Client teams such as security and compliance teams to certify the product usage in the Client Environment.
Build innovative applications around the runtimes to demonstrate capability such as scalability/security /resiliency using the new platforms.
This is an Engineering role with expectation to write code and build applications to showcase platforms ability and build development guidelines.
Essential Skills:
Bachelor degree in computer or similar
5-10 year experience in IT and banking industry
Experience with application build and deployment automation using ant/maven.
Used Git/SVN as SCM in previous projects
Engineering background with 3-5yr experience in developing applications using JEE and Application Server technologies
Experience with application server and web server products
Understanding of the application container topologies and usecases
Understanding Web Server plugin for front-ending application server
Well versed with Unix(Linux) environment and ability to write shell scripts
Understanding and experience with XML and JSON based data parsing
Database SQL skills with ability to write generic queries and procedures
Experience setting up SSL and security in Application environment
Exposure to Chef and writing Chef Recipes
Quick learner to pick up new tool and start delivering
Be responsible, owning problems and providing resolutions
Strong team member with good verbal and written communication skills
Desired Skills:
Experience with PaaS environment such as Openshift/AWS/Cloudfoundry/Docker
Experience with application monitoring using tools such as Wily/RTView/AppDynamic
Log management in a distributed environment using tools such as logstash/splunk
Windows environment and powershell understanding
