Job Description :
Cyber Threat Analyst performs Joint Staff and Combatant Command-level staff coordination and conducts detailed policy and technical analysis. Support may include analysis to streamline information flow, create and improve business processes, and provide improved cybersecurity language for JCIDS requirements documentation for Department of Defense weapon systems and capabilities. The Cyber Threat Analyst will provide direct support to Joint Staff, C4 Cyber Directorate (J6), the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, and Joint Directorates. The Cyber Threat Analyst will function as part of a small team in a time-compressed environment. Duties may require periodic CONUS travel.

DAILY ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

- Researching and analyzing cybersecurity capabilities to satisfy data protection requirements

- Analyzing existing conceptual and requirements documents to assure conformance to operational, functional, technical, and contractually specified requirements

- Drafting point papers, memoranda, positions papers, issues analyses, briefings, and research and analysis products as required documenting analysis for Government approval

- Evaluating cyber security controls to mitigate vulnerabilities and enhancements for cyber threats

- Providing analysis of national and DoD cyber events to determine impacts to the Department, Combatant Commands (COCOM) and the Joint Staff

- Reviewing JCIDS requirements documents for cyber threat equities

- Coordinating with relevant cyber operations and security organizations to include USCYBERCOM, DISA, Service cyber components, DC3, and the IC

- Facilitating cyber threat working groups to develop processes to determine threat information required for JCIDS and DoD acquisition activities

- Providing cyber threat analysis (written and oral presentations) IAW DIA analytics standards
