Responsibilities
Demonstrates expertise in all components of the MicroStrategy BI Stack – MSTR Projects (logical models/schema objects), Intelligent Cubes, Reports, and Documents, Visual Insight, Mobile and 3rd party integration. (e.g. SharePoint
Responsible for administration of the BI application including user management & MSTR services/engine maintenance
MicorStrategy Version update and mobile application upgrade
Prompts, Hierarchies and Transformations
Administrative
o Microstrategy troubleshooting and performance tuning
o Created security roles, schedules, subscription, User’s and Group’s with their required privileges Created Transmitters, Devices and User for Automated Distribution Services through Desktop and Web.
o Product installation and upgrades.
Lead the design and implementation of MicroStrategy BI software, including integration with required relational databases and big data platform and all associated processes.
BI development efforts (coding/configuration/ maintenance/installation, testing, debugging) and technical documentation. Performs code reviews and follows development best practices.
Design and develop semantic layer deliveries for end user effectiveness, specifically performance and use case compatibility.
Performs proof-of-concepts and demonstrates new capabilities benefiting our clients and advancing our product strategy.
Provides dashboard visualization expertise, creates visualization library and visualization best practices.
Proactively communicates development status, issues and concerns to management with risk mitigation recommendations.
Performs user & account administration; demonstrates deep knowledge of license types and privileges to support end user needs.
Collaborate and work with end users to ensure that data and reports meet their business needs.
Create custom APIs that allow third-party systems to utilize the product''s functionality and integrate the product with enterprise portals and applications
Design and monitor end-user reporting tools and systems, ensuring reports are accurate and up-to-date.
Troubleshoot MicroStrategy reports and dashboards and performance-tune as needed.
Improve team effectiveness by ensuring that the MicroStrategy capabilities are being fully leveraged
Recommend and provide technical assistance on future enhancements, such as MicroStrategy version upgrades, project rollouts, architecture modifications, and new reports.
Qualifications
7 years’ experience obtaining a thorough knowledge along with hands-on experience of MicroStrategy Web Professional, Desktop, Document, Dashboard, Mobile and Visual Insights Administration . Other BI Platforms/Tool experience applicable (e.g. Spotfire, Tableu, OBIEE 6+ years’ experience w/ MicroStrategy Administrator a must.
Experience in MicorStrategy version upgrade, installation, configuration and performance tuning.
8-9 years of experience in the software Industry
Experience creating MicroStrategy Reports, Dashboard, Scorecards and writing technical and functional requirements.
Thorough understanding of the Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence life cycle of development
Expert knowledge of SQL and working knowledge of SQL server
Experience analyzing complex end user requirements, design dimensional data model, including dimensions, facts, aggregates and extension tables
Experience creating the MicroStrategy meta data layer including: Attributes and their relationships, Facts, Metrics, Advanced Metrics, Filters, Custom Groups, Consolidations
BS in Computer Science or equivalent preferred
Ability to be a self-starter and multi-task across fast-paced IT and business environments
Ability to work full-time on-location
Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry a plus
