Job Description :
The Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of Microsoft SQL Server RDBMS systems (2008/2012/2014), to ensure availability and consistent performance for applications. This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for the sustainment of the Microsoft SQL Servers, ensuring their operational readiness (security, health, and performance The SQL Servers support a variety of applications to include Microsoft SharePoint and a variety of web-presented applications.

Responsibilities

Manage Microsoft SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectation.

Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
Provide support for critical production systems

Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours as required.
Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
Manage and ensure successful backup operations for all SQL Servers.

Skills and Qualifications

Ability to multitask and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.

Active TS/SCI required to be considered for this position

Required:

5+ years Microsoft SQL Server Administration experience.
Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models.
Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for Microsoft SQL Server.
Experience installing and configuring SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQLServer Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS

Experience working with Windows server.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Flexible, team player, “get-it-done” personality.
Ability to organize and plan work independently
Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
Ability to multitask and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams
Security+ certification.
Ability to attain computing environment training certification within 6 months of start date.

Preferred:

Microsoft SQL Server MTA, MCSA or MCSE certification
Experience working in a cloud hosting environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 /year
