Position: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Bronx NY
Full Time Permanent role
Summary of Job Function:
The Mechanical Engineer will develop and test hardware for elevator systems. They will implement designs based on Design for Manufacturing and Lean principles. They must have the ability to become educated in the operation of Elevator Systems and to become familiar with code and certification requirements. The Mechanical Engineer will also support our manufacturing facilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
3+ years of experience in similar position required
Proficient ability with AutoCAD, Inventor and Microsoft Office required
Knowledge of Adept (document management) and Visual (ERP) a plus
Familiarity with basic and more advanced manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication, stamping, machining, forging, injection molding and die casting
Can produce 3D models and assemblies and properly dimensioned drawings that are moderately to highly complex
Ability to exercise creativity and innovation
Excellent interpersonal skills
Analytical, math, and problem-solving skills highly preferred
Exceptional work ethic, time management, and organizational skills
Essential Duties:
Perform design, analysis and experiment on new products ranging from complex to relatively simple.
Perform design, analysis and experiment to improve / maintain existing products ranging from complex to relatively simple
Expected to contribute suggestions for new and existing products
Perform on-site field visits to analysis and troubleshoot products
