Job Summary:
This position will operate principally from the Company’s main plant located in Dallas, Texas and may occasionally require some travel. The Research Analyst provides potential sales leads to the Sales Department sales staff through data assimilation of information obtained from already established sources currently used by the Company and from new sources identified by performing on-going research.

Additionally, this position evaluates competitive information available from such sources as the internet and advertisements provides on a regular basis. Updated competitive data is used by this position to establish and maintain current comparative matrix as it pertains to the Company’s product offerings by product series and by markets it serves.

The Research Analyst is responsible for preparing periodic reports for Company Management and others as directed, both standard reports on a scheduled basis, and special reports on an as needed basis; these reports being a culmination of data collected about competitors, about markets, and performance, both financial and product based.

The assistance in preparing sales forecasts and sales quotas shall also be a function of the Research Analyst.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Assimilates on-going research for sales leads
Generates competitive matrix
Prepares data for business and price/cost analysis
Supports sales and marketing projects
Conducts in-depth data analyses using traditional and advanced methods
Interprets data, formulates reports and makes recommendations
Assists in the development of sales quotas and forecasts for the sales team
Analyzes and reviews target and territory alignments with management
Recommends changes to current sales techniques, procedures or promotional efforts based on market research
Maintains sales related trackers
All other duties assigned by Marketing Manager

Required Education and Experience:
BS/BA in Business required, preferably Marketing, Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or other related field.
3-5 years’ proven sales and market research analysis experience in Defense/Aerospace industry. Military service a plus.
Required Skills:
Analytical Skills: Works with large amounts of data: facts, figures, and number crunching. Must be able to see through data and analyze it to find conclusions.
Communication Skills: Presents findings, or translates the data into an understandable document. Needs to write and articulate clearly in English, easily communicating complex ideas.
Critical Thinking: Looks at the numbers, trends, and data and comes to new conclusions based on the findings.
Attention to Detail: Data is precise. Data analysts have to make sure they are vigilant in their analysis to come to correct conclusions.
Math Skills: Needs math skills to estimate numerical data.
Team Player: Ability to work within a team environment to achieve results
Organization: Strong organizational and time-management skills required
Software Skills: Expertise with Excel, PowerPoint, ACT! and statistical packages, databases and MS Office (Outlook, Word)
Interpersonal Skills: Determined; driven to succeed, enthusiastic, passionate, and personable.
