Title Manager, Software Development – HRIS

State Connecticut

City New Britain

Position Summary

Responsible for HRIS projects in terms of scope, duration, resources and budget.
Review and partner with HR to define and execute the HRIS strategy
Lead reviews and develop resource plans/assignments balancing project requirements and production support on a global basis
Interacts with all levels within the organization to implement, support, and maintain HR Systems
Act as SME to the HR organization, test and implement changes and integrations
Analyzes business systems requirements/processes and system integration considerations to determine appropriate technology solutions. Designs, configures/codes, tests and documents solutions based on system and user requirements. Using current programming language/business systems interfaces and technologies, implements the solution by configuring business systems or by writing custom code, and performs testing and debugging of solution.
Completes necessary documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance of the solution.

Principal Accountabilities

Execution of Projects / Programs – On Time, On Budget
Works collaboratively with HRIS team to support / lead HRIS development projects, by providing expertise and experience in system design tools and techniques
Provide consulting expertise to solve complex HR system problems and continually improve the effectiveness HR information and processes
Manage technical resources and third party providers to ensure successful delivery of projects
Analyzes business needs and creates software solutions.
Evaluates and recommends software and hardware solutions to meet user needs.
Prepares flow charts, business process management (BPM) workflow, and systems diagrams to assist in problem analysis.


Required Skills & Experience Knowledge:

Strong functional knowledge of PeopleSoft, project and integration experience, 8+ years exp.
Proven expertise in full lifecycle HR system implementations, including defining systems strategy, designing and prototyping to meet requirements, testing, training, defining support procedures, and implementing business solutions

Experience:

10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Additional Skills:

Possesses and applies an expert knowledge of applications programming and analysis and the impact of the solutions on the business and IT functions.
Applies expert knowledge to analyze and develop solutions to highly complex problems (including global implications
Competent to lead all phases of applications programming.
Possesses and applies an expert level of understanding of the principles of applications programming.
Demonstrated ability to lead the largest projects or offer highly complex programming solutions.
Develops and maintains an advanced knowledge of key business processes, current and future requirements and key success factors.
Ability to effectively communicate business issues and needs at a senior leadership level and how technology supports those requirements.

Education

Undergraduate degree in Computer Sciences or a related field and 10+ year’s relevant experience, or
Graduate degree and 8-10 years of relevant experience.
