Note: Required 6 Mainframe Testers in Omaha and 2 Mainframe Testers in Denver

Job Description:

Works as part of the mainframe test team. Is considered a mid-level mainframe expert, testing and quality advisor and analyzer of risk.
Contributes to test strategy and test scope artifacts to ensure the delivery of quality software applications on small to medium sized projects, or small components of larger projects. Works with Technical and Business teams to define the scope of testing required. Is responsible for identifying high level test scenarios and any specific test environment or test data requirements. Creates test case/script , ensuring appropriate test coverage and evaluating the overall quality of the artifacts delivered. Reviews and provides input for all testing artifacts that can include test plans/case/scripts, requirements traceability matrices, test tracking documents, and test schedules. Carries out test execution, evaluates the outcome of the testing conducted in each test cycle and provides defect escalation to management, as needed.
Following test execution, is responsible for contributing to the final outstanding defect resolution, test management reporting, and internal and external communications.
The Testers will be contributing to an encryption project utilizing the tool/platform HPE/Voltage. This is a complex data migration project involving the validation of data from multiple applications and interfaces: CICS, COBOL jobs, PROCs, SPUFI/bound queries, data calls from midrange and web.

Functions:

Identify high level test scenarios and any specific test environment or test data requirements.
Create test case/scripts, ensure appropriate test coverage and evaluate the overall quality of the artifacts delivered.
Review and provide input for all testing artifacts that can include test plans/case/scripts, requirements traceability matrices, test tracking documents, and test schedules.
Carry out test execution, evaluate the outcome of the testing conducted in each test cycle and provide defect escalation/management

Requirements:

Experience with mainframe processing (COBOL, PROCs, SPUFI/bound plans
Experience reading and interpreting design documents, to formulate the test approach and all aspects of testing (positive, negative, destructive, system integration, etc
Experience creating documentation for mainframe testing.
Understanding Job Flows.
CICS desirable.
Experience with DB2/Relational databases is a big plus.
Financial services industry is a plus.
Experience with data migration projects desirable.
Knowledge/understanding of encryption or HPE/Voltage.
Exceptional problem solving skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Mainframe Developers with a desire to test would also be viable candidates.
