Role: Mainframe Principle Consultant
Location: Berlin, CT
Duration: Permanent Hire

Basic
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution required. Will also consider three years of relevant work experience in lieu of every year of education
At least 11 years of experience with Information Technology.

Preferred
At least 11 years of experience in below Mainframe skillset.
Experience in z/OS administration
Experience in z/OS solution design / Configuration/solutions evaluation/ Validation and deployment
Experience in Hardware IODF changes
Expert knowledge in PR/SM, Support Element, HMC etc.
Experience in z/OS Migrations/Upgrades and Creating SYSRES VolumeExpert knowledge of Mainframe Catalogs.
Expert Knowledge in SMPE and USERMODs.
Expert in Mainframe Storage, DFSMS and Tape Devices.
Expert knowledge of TCPIP and VTAM.
Knowledge in RACF and ACF2.
Experience in IBM Mainframe OEM and 3rd Party Tools install and Customization such as CA and Compuware Products.
Z/OS Performance Tuning Skills.
Knowledge in WLM , RMF/SMF .
Knowledge in SAS/MXG, Omegamon , CA MICS and any other Performance Tools.
Expert Knowledge in identifying Performance issues in CICS, DB2 and z/OS.
Strong Capacity Planning skills.
Demonstrate good understanding of Mainframe Application Architectures.
Expertise in Generating Performance and Capacity Planning reports using RMF/SMF, SAS/MXG and Omegamon.
Strong Experience in Dump Analysis.
Must be able to provide technical management of implementation of infrastructure architecture and provide technical mentoring, guidance and clarification to other architects and technical implementation resources.
Provide thought leadership and driving client long range plans and roadmap
Analyzing and troubleshooting complex business and technical issues
Creation of Run Book including migration execution updates
Ensure operational and system documentation is created and maintained.
Participate in Knowledge Management activities with the objective of ensuring the highest levels of service offerings to clients in own technology domain within the guidelines, policies and norms
Ensure upgrades and enhancements are properly planned and implemented to agreed quality standards.
Ensure that the team performs its support duties and within Service Level Agreement’s.
Act as an escalation point for faults or complaints.
