Requirements
- A minimum of five years’ experience with z/OS (MVS SMP/E experience is required.
- SYSPLEX experience is strongly desired:
- Practical experience and/or exposure to IBM DB2, C.I.C.S. is preferred but not required.
- General OS skills (TSO, SDSF, ISPF, etc…)
- Experience with forecasting, capacity planning, and workload performance analysis
- Coding / Reporting experience with one or more of the following (SQL, JCL, SAS, MXG, MICS, REXX, ASSEMBLER)
- Familiar with one or more of the following mainframe monitors (RMF, IBM’s APA, Omegamon)
- Experience with Workload Management balancing, MF Configuration, DB2, Remedy, Control-M or CA7, or Forecasting
- Thorough familiarity with WLM and a wide variety of SMF data
- Moderate familiarity with major environments such as CICS, DB2, MQ, and Websphere
- Experience using monitoring and analysis tools such as RMF, Omegamon, and APA
- Experience with Network products (VTAM, Netview, TCP/IP
- An advanced knowledge of problem solving tools and techniques and the ability to perform and collect data required to solve complex system and component problems.
- A working knowledge of Disaster Recovery processes and philosophy.
