MDM Architect

Location: Atlanta, GA

LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY
contract – 3-4 months

The MDM Architect role is a collaborative position with many key stakeholders of master data, charged with helping to ensure accurate data is created and consumed for decisions and other processes. The MDM Architect will play multiple hands-on roles as the partner with IT and the business in executing activities to profile data, gather business requirements, define data cleansing and transformation strategies.

The MDM Architect will mentor business leaders, analysts and developers who own, produce, improve, and use data. The MDM Architect will directly enable the creation of a ‘single source of the truth’ for key enterprise master data domains.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic guidance with respect to MDM best practices, MDM data profiling and integration
Responsible for ensuring high-quality design of dimensional models and data mapping
Establish information management business and functional requirements
Resolve issues throughout the development lifecycle
Provide detailed documentation, end user training and knowledge-transfer services
Preparation of technical project documentation
Partner with data stewards, sponsors and stakeholders to implement business processes and policies that will support a successful MDM roll out and ongoing program sustainment
Serve as a resource for internal data stewards on new processes and workflows
Establish self as a “go-to” resource that speaks the languages of IT data management and the business.

Experience / Skills required

5 to 10 years of experience in Master Data Management is required
Extensive knowledge and understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality and Data Management principles
Practical leadership in data integration tools (BOBJ Data Services, Information Steward, SAP MDG, or other)
Practical leadership in master data management & associated tools
Must have a technical background and be able to lead data integration, data modeling, MDM workflow, etc. through a firsthand understanding of the work
A deep understanding of data lifecycle (data profiling, data quality, master data management, data warehouses/marts/staging/ODS)
Good knowledge of SQL
Agile background a plus (Not required)
Knowledge and/or qualifications in SAP technologies
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills.
