Job Title: Senior DB2 LUW / EDW DBA.
Location: Cincinnati; OH USA.
Type of hire: Contract.
Duration: 12+ months.

As a Consultant, you will be a key player in the consulting team that helps discover and define the problem statement, evaluates the solution options and makes recommendations.
You will create detailed design, architecture and process artifacts and implement the deployment plan.
You will also support knowledge transfer with the objective of providing value-adding consulting solutions that enable our clients to meet the changing needs of the global landscape.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required.
Will also consider three years of relevant work experience in lieu of every year of education.”
At least 4 years of experience with Information Technology
Preferred:
Database administrator with Strong experience in DB2 LUW Database partition feature on Unix or Linux platforms
Experienced or Exposure in Data warehouse environments using DB2 LUW
Experienced in Installation and Configuration, upgrading, and troubleshooting DB2 databases
Experienced in database administration tasks like SQL coding, Relational Design, Referential Integrity, Index strategies, and SQL Troubleshooting Using DB2 LUW
Experienced in Migration and applying FIXPACKS to keep DB2 at most recent level
Experienced in OLTP OLAP database environments which include Single Partitioned and Multi-Partitioned Databases DPF
Perform AUDIT on the Databases to ensure correct privileges are provided on the Database and Database objects.
Expertise in handling DB2 UDB security, replication , Capacity Planning, Backup and Restore, Shipping archival logs, Corruption and Recovery
Knowledge in implementing Backup Recovery strategies for clients to have desired recovery models
Exposure to HA setups like Clustering, HADR, TSA etc.
Setting up monitoring for the database like Snapshots, Event monitoring, Traces, etc.
Experience in Unix/Linux scripting
Exposure to TWS (Tivoli workload scheduler ) is a plus
Experienced in lead activities and working in onshore / offshore model
ITIL framework knowledge is desirable
To be flexible and open to work in 24x7 shifts including night shifts
Analytical and Communication skills
Planning and Co-ordination skills
Experience with project management
Experience and desire to work in a management consulting environment that requires regular travel
