This position requires a product manager with proven technical understanding, steady customer focus, and the ability to work and negotiate with diverse groups of very smart people.

What you will do: ? Act as product owner on a commerce platform Scrum team, including user story and acceptance criteria definition, backlog prioritization and leading backlog refinement ? Work with end users, analytics, and marketing reporting to understand Ancestry customer needs and delivery the company’s core promise to help people discover, preserve and share their family history ? Work with accounting, development, finance, fulfillment, international, legal, marketing, mobile apps and other groups to understand internal customer needs ? Own your product; develop a platform vision and roadmap for the commerce features and stacks within your ownership, and lead team in execution against that vision ? Define desired outcomes and metrics of success for upcoming commerce features and initiatives ? Create written documents and diagrams to clearly communicate data flows, architecture and user experiences ? Work closely with other scrum teams within commerce and across Ancestry to deliver on quarterly goals and objectives
Qualifications
Who you are: ? 6+ years of relevant work experience as product Owner, software platform products preferred ? Former work experience with micro service architecture, RESTful API’s, and backend services ? Strong written communication and the ability to explain complex problems through succinct, logical documents and diagrams ? Experience of working with internal stakeholders, including business-driven groups (finance, marketing) and regulation-driven groups (accounting, legal) ? Fluency with analytics, and user and business metrics ? Expertise in product management principles and agile development processes ? History of delivering software products that scale over time ? Bachelor’s degree preferred; STEM/computer science degree preferred
