10+ years as a Linux system administrator and/or as a data center specialist- Broad technical background on Linux, systemd, containers, local and distributed storage, OS security and performance, IP networking, distributed systems- Deep expertise in: . Linux containers: Docker, OCI/runc . Linux systems: systemd . Scripting: bash (alternatives: python, go) . Mesosphere DC/OS, Mesos, Marathon (alternative: Kubernetes) . Distributed stores: Zookeeper, etcd
The hardware is based on the Open Compute Project; the software includes Apache Mesos, DC/OS, plus a mix of Open Source, paid Open Core, and in-house software. The candidate is a strong systems specialist. They will manage operations for the data center, including:- Automated OS configuration and upgrades- Operation and upgrades for the distributed platform (Mesosphere DC/OS, Zookeeper, etcd Automated health checks for hardware parts, especially disks- Operation and maintenance for distributed storage (Portworx , DAS Operation and maintenance for Docker, Container Linux, Fleet
