Title: Linux Systems Administrator
Location: Madison, WI
Position Responsibilities:
Administration & Life Cycle Management of Linux Servers/Cluster
Tune system performance and ensure high availability of Cluster infrastructure
Prepare and maintain procedures for all tasks related to this position.
Provide feedback to IT Management regarding capacity planning
Maintain operations within disaster recovery/business continuity rules and policies
Maintain scripts and processes to streamline operation.
Carry a cell phone during working hours for immediate communications.
Carry a pager or cell phone after hours for emergency contact.
Willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as requested by IT Management.
The above requirements are not meant to be all encompassing; IT Management will assign other job related tasks as needed.
Knowledge/Skills/Attributes:
Bachelor degree or 5 Years related experience or equivalent combination of education, experience, and certifications
Advanced knowledge of Linux (RedHat) OS
Advanced knowledge of Intel based server hardware
Advanced knowledge of File systems and Directory services
Advanced knowledge of Storage and Backup systems
Effectively communicate with employees, customers, vendors, and guests
Prioritize and handle multiple tasks
Work with minimum supervision
Work well with others in a team environment
