Required Skills
5+ Years of Hands on experience managing Linux and Citrix Serevers
Solid understanding of Citrix Xen Virtualization
Experience working in a Spacewalk (Satellite) environment
Experience managing RPM based distributions
Experience setting up system with multipath SAN storage
Experience working with ocfs2 and glusterfs filesystems
Experience supporting RHEL/OEL/Centos 5/6/7
Proficient with all aspects of operating system administration; for example, managing processes and services, configuration of mail systems, system installation and configuration, printer systems, and fundamentals of security
Strong troubleshooting skills with respect to system and application performance.
Familiarity with the principles and practice of system configuration management using modern declarative tools; ability to model and reduce complex system requirements as configuration declarations
A solid understanding of the operating systems; understanding of paging and swapping, inter-process communication, devices and what device drivers do
Solid experience with filesystem concepts and usage (ext3/ext4/xfs/zfs/btrfs)
Solid understanding of fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts
Ability to configure file sharing (NFS/SAMBA)
Solid knowledge of DNS
Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (e.g., Perl, Python, Bourne Shell)
Works well alone or on a team
Strong experience with network storage solutions (SAN, NAS)
Proficient in configuring LDAP
Proficient in with TCP/IP networking protocols; ability to debug (tcpdump, etherpeek, netstat, lsof), as well as routing concepts
Proficient in configuring network file systems (e.g., NFS, RFS, AFS, CIFS, SAMBA)
Proficient in configuring auto-mounters
Strong understanding of how to appropriately scale applications
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to write purchase justifications, train users in complex topics, make presentations to an internal audience, and interact positively with upper management
Independent problem-solving, self-direction
Desirable Background and Skills
Proficient in administering OCFS2 or Cluster Storage
A degree in computer science or a related field
Significant programming background in any applicable language
Ability to do basic debugging and modification of C, Perl, or Java programs
Experience installing/configuring a Web server
Experience maintaining compliance with applicable laws or regulations (SOX, HIPAA, PCA, FISMA)
