Solid Linux system administrator - Hands on and can work independently (OS, command line, file editing, virtualization, applications, Open Source)
Network skills (DNS, DHCP, IP routing, packet captures, network debugging, and troubleshooting)
Network Management System (Zabbix, Cacti, Openview, SNMP)

Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s in computer science/Network Engineering
5-7 years’ experience with Linux, networks, virtualization and open source applications.
They will handle all escalations, upgrades, monitoring, etc. They will be responsible for over site of the platform to ensure availability to end users

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for creating/deploying, managing and maintaining multiple environments and technologies
AAA/Radius
Web Portals
Monitoring Platforms
WLAN Controllers
Cassandra Databases
IPSec
Switch setup and configuration (Primary Cisco)
Firewall
Responsible for Creating/versioning/testing of scripts as necessary to automate, configure, deploy and maintain various applications in a complex environment
Duties include automation of installation/configuration/management of multiple systems.
Assist with deploying equipment at customer sites (AP’s, switches, servers)
Responsible in Building/Maintaining/Updating the monitoring tools to monitor systems, applications, databases as well as business transactions.
Above average written and verbal communication skills – customer facing
Able to apply troubleshooting logic to complex problems including networking, application servers, Oss, protocols, databases, etc. and the mixture of these
Write & troubleshoot xml, REGEX, Perl, Python, Bash scripts, DB queries, etc.
Write MOPs (assumes that they understand CMS/ECO processes to write MOPs)
Other duties as requested

Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrable competence in the following technologies or applications
AAA/Radius
SNMP
Cisco Switch configuration
Configuration Management (SolarWinds NCM, Rancid, Salt, Ansible)
Linux OS, including command line, vi, tcpdump, ifconfig, KVM
Network Tools (Wireshark, SNMP, Ping, Traceroute)
WLAN, Wireless troubleshooting techniques, 802.11, WPA2
2+ years Linux Admin experience (Redhat, Centos, Ubuntu, Debian)
3+ years with a Network Monitoring platform such as Cacti, Nagios, Zabbix, etc
Familiar with DNS, DHCP, routing, IP addressing (IPv4 & IPv6), VLANs, packet analysis, network troubleshooting, etc.
Knowledge and experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, OpenStack, Open Vswitch, etc)
Knowledge with NoSQL clusters such as Cassandra a plus
Experience with configuration management and deployment tools such as Salt or Ansible
Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex application environments
Experience with deploying and maintaining Open Source applications
Experience working with Containers such as Docker a plus
Managing application and infrastructure releases between Non-Prod and Production environments
Experience with Cloud based offerings such as Azure, AWS or Google Computer a plus
Familiarity with RDBMS (MySQL, SQL Server) a plus
Familiarity with DevOPs and ITIL processes a plus
