Linux Administrator (with DevOps automation experience)

Bill rate range is 60 based on experience. Client interviews will be there.

This is a first time client for us, hence please ensure that we are avoiding OPT profiles. Please look for experienced resources.

Minimum 10 years of experience.

Linux devops - 2 open positions

The Linux Administrator works on site in Jersey City (easy access to PATH, Hudson Light Rail, and parking garages) and reports directly to the Director of Infrastructure.
He / She will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing and fixing production issues, developing monitoring solutions and using tools which will automate daily operational activities.
The ideal candidate must be able to identify potential problems based on their years of experience, dig deep for root cause analysis and implement solutions and documentation that prevent future occurrences. This role will require that you hit the ground running and will often require coordination between multiple development and IT support teams.  You will also be working directly with our customers when necessary.
Basic Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in a system administration/engineering position
Demonstrated proficiency in systems administration (HP/IBM hardware, AIX/Linux/Oracle Linux operating systems)
Strong understanding of the application stack (HTTP protocol, load testing, proxies, load balancing)
Excellent communication, independent problem solver, analytical and collaborative problem-solving skills
Experience working with monitoring tools, such as Nagios, Xymon, OMD, Solarwinds or other open source system monitoring tools
There will be a weekly on-call rotation scheduled with other team members
Will be required to work after hours and on weekends as necessary.
Must be able to work independently.


Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with at least one of the following languages (Java, .NET, Ruby, Python, Perl, Bash shell scripting)
Experience with automation frameworks such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef
Knowledge of best practices in release management
Networking fundamentals and advanced troubleshooting skills in systems
Understanding how to create a secure server stack


Plus
Experience building/configuring Load balancers including content switching/health checks (F5 preferable but any experience is good)
Experience with building and maintaining Infrastructure with Oracle
Experience building Windows systems or understanding AD domains.
