Position: Linux Administrator
Location: San Ramon, CA
Duration: Full Time

Minimum Work Experience: 8+ Years

Must Have Skills:
Provide support for escalated issues from support technicians.
Infrastructure and/or application migration tasks in support of migration activities and projects undertaken by the DCA Life Cycle Migrations team
Support and configuration of Red Hat Linux, , DNS, SSL, F5 and Site Minder, and related.
Other operations related duties as assigned :
Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various projects and operational needs.
Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
Install and configure systems which support infrastructure.
Install and maintain security patches on the operational systems,
EMT alerts – Working on SCOM Alerts - system performance and capacity alerts for items such as CPU, RAM, storage, etc.
Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities
Upgrade and configure system software that supports infrastructure applications.
Install new server hardware and software according to standard operating procedures.
Provision and support servers for the development and QA of applications created by other teams and divisions.
Actively participate in hardware and software configuration and change management processes.
Provide statistics of systems usage, systems outages, end user requests, etc. at meetings, planning sessions, and other interactions as needed.
Monitor systems and provide information and statistics and/or take action on Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Troubleshoot issues with server hardware and software; provides problem determination, including interfacing with other IT teams and customers to determine root cause.
