Job Description :
Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments
Life Cycle maintenance of Server from Build , Operational needs, upgrades packages,patches decommission.
Managing file systems for critical applications using LVM/Veritas
Linux patch management and firmware upgrade on HBA, BIOS.
Disk Management using native multipath and PowerPath
Knowledge on firewalls using “iptables and TCP Wrappers” for host-based security.
Scheduling the cron jobs and resolving technical customer trouble tickets.
Configuration and administration of SSH server with ssh-keygen for authentication.
Maintenance & troubleshoot of all the system, server, Network & hardware and deals with vendor
Works within the established and documented process for change management to build test and implement approved changes
Develops and maintains documentation and processes/procedures for operating the environment. Complies with all procedure and documentation requirements
Knowledge on VMware ESX and Vcenter
Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages
Familiarity with load balancing, firewalls, etc.
Drive incidents to successful resolution by resolving them or working in tandem with peers in other resolving groups.
Secondary skill of HPUX or Solaris preferred with knowhow of life cycle maintenance of Server
As a knowledge resource; work in close coordination with the other teams by actively contributing to building process documents, KM creation, process updates, document verification.
Active participation in crisis calls, have the ability to host bridge calls, invite key contributors, stake holders and strive for faster resolution of Major Incidents.
Provides 24x7 rotating support for the diagnosis and resolution of problems
