Job Title: Linux Admin

Location: Minneapolis, MN

No EAD's

Need Passport no.

Must have skills:

6+ years’ experience as an administrator, with deep knowledge in Redhat & SUSE Linux Systems.

Hands-on experience in RHEL 6.x , RHEL 7.x , SUSE10 & SUSE11 System.

Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.

Good Knowledge on Linux Patching process and procedure.

Contribute to and maintain system standards.

Maintenance of Enterprise Compliance jobs according to PCI standards.

Should have knowledge on Oracle database, Middleware environments.

Must have knowledge on patch process for both Redhat & SUSE Linux servers

Knowledge on automation tools like Bladelogic is an added advantage.

Should have knowledge on server provisioning using PXE and Virtual environment.

Experience with trouble shooting incidents involving compute resources, network problems, remote storage related problems [SAN, NAS] etc.

Good understanding and knowledge of Load Balancing, High Availability. Good to have skills:

Preferred certification: RHCE Key responsibilities: Responsible for implementing and managing the Linux infrastructure, including hardware, Operating Systems, such as Red Hat & SUSE Linux and system services (DNS, NTP, syslog, etc, file systems (NAS, NFS, and Veritas cluster file systems), Managing Virtualization technologies and UCS Systems.

1. Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, services, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.

2. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

3. Frequent security remediation tasks to keep all servers within compliance level.

4. Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up.

5. Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.

6. Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.


7. Perform periodic check of performance reporting of servers and report to capacity management team for permanent fix.

8. Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.

9. SAN Storage addition, removal as per project requirements.

10. Administrating server hardware models and vendors contact i.e. Dell, Cisco, etc.

11. DNS entry management using infoblox., Cisco rack server management using CIMC, VMware environment management using vSphere.
