Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Server Management:
a) Administering, securing, monitoring, managing and supporting Linux servers in both physical & virtual environment
b) To do all the supporting tasks that are included, but not limited to code deployment, managing source control systems, virtual servers, scripting, etc.
c) Routine task management like File system management, volume management , disk management, mirroring & replication
d) To take into account and identify the discrepancies in the system, to assess the risks, and to implement solutions by adhering to the security standards
e) To be involved in developing and overseeing the backup, replication, clustering and fail over strategies for different clustering environment like VCS cluster, RHEL cluster etc.
f) Administering, patch upgrade, SSL certificate renewal, health check
g) Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining different services such as Bind, Apache, MySQL, nginx, etc.
h) Proficient with network tools such as iptables, Linux IPVS, HAProxy, etc.
i) Experience with virtualization technologies, such as Vmware, Xen platform .
j) Ability to perform different Software/Patch Installation for different application. Configuring & necessary parameter tuning
k) Installation and management of security certificates , different subscription management
l) Scripting skills to automate jobs, code deployment, job scheduling
m) Creates and maintains environment for running batch jobs associated with daily batch cycle and batch reporting subsystem

Problem and change management: Ensure problems are discovered and recorded in Incident Management. Perform root cause analysis. Follow a Change Management to ensure that IT service availability and quality are increased.

Performance management /Development/Production Support/Capacity planning: Analyzing core or crash dump, system logs and providing solutions for better performance of the Operating System Servers to ensure the availability of the Servers with minimal disruption to end users and creating an environment for positive customer experience. Take active participation in capacity planning.

Security: Monitoring the secured certificates and should be in a position to renew them before they expires.

Business Continuity Support: Responsible for maintenance of all servers which provides data availability on Customer systems in DC-DR environment

Responsible for documentation support for all activities/ processes and updating in process master document.

Availability to operate with a flexible work schedule. Includes some evening and weekends as required.
