About the Role
Connected Services Liferay 7.0 Developer is a critical role inside of the
Connected Services organization. These individuals need to be fully versed
in the inter most working of the cross-brand telematics offerings across
multiple platforms. These individuals will be expected to be able to
identify root cause, assist with architecture designs, make technical
recommendations on implementation methodologies for expanding function,
provide expertise in the web portal development and support the delivery
manager of the project for development and integration tasks.
The role is responsible for the web portal enhancements, configuration and
development activities. The role requires extensive experience in the
application development using Java and Liferay portal. The role also
requires analytical and conceptual thinking, integration and problem solving
skills. The role also requires leadership to direct a small group of
developers on design and development activities.

* Expertise in web portal and web application development in Liferay
7.0
* Analytical and conceptual thinking - ability to analyze the
requirements and propose best solutions
* Communication skills - ability to communicate fluently, in both
verbal and writing, to Project Managers, business customers and IT
management.
* 5+ years development leadership in Liferay
* 8 + years of experience in the application design and development
using Java SE, J2EE and Design Patterns;
* 8 + years of web application integration and management;
* 3 + years of development experience in Liferay portal technology
* 3 + years of development experience in responsive design of Web
applications
* 8 + years of development experience in CSS, HTML and JavaScript
* 3+ years of experience in using or develop Web services
* 5+ years of database development experience with SQL and Oracle
database experience;
* 3+ experience on Web Portal design and development, including Web
content management;
* Good UML skills and ability to facilitate OO/J2EE design, following
best practices and design patterns;
* Strong communication skills with team members, project managers and
business customers.
* Strong ability to develop solutions for technical issues and
problems.
* Strong team player and ability to lead a small group of developers
to deliver technical solutions;
