The IT Support Specialist must have a detailed understanding of network infrastructure from the conceptual to implementation stage, and hardware repairs. In addition, other responsibilities include research, design, planning, security, deployment of equipment and software, excellent vendor relations, and inventory management. Further responsibilities include the ability to manage existing network and hardware equipment, transitions, troubleshooting, ensure security and maintain the integrity of the general IT infrastructure.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

-Constantly evaluate for critical System and Security updates that could be required to deploy in the operations (Windows/Linux/SQL/IICS/others
-Constantly check the Issue Tracking system and take metrics in order to early identify issues and repetitive patterns.
-Respond and provide support to the different operations requests made in the Issue Tracking System.
-Generate and support new configurations and help to deploy in the different operations, keeping tracking of the changes.
-Have a close understanding of the different architectures across the different countries as well deployed equipment and assure is well documented in our content system.
-Test in staging and testing environments new releases/fixes/critical updates/new configurations before deliver to the operations.
-Find quotes and suggest solutions for hardware/software related problems with the servers/stations or other components in the system.
-Help to configure and deliver equipment to the operations.
-Suggest solutions and improvements in the existent system architecture for the different operations for common found patterns or problems.
-Plan and perform preventive maintenance on servers.
-Lead, plan, coordinate, and implement deployment activities.
-Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools trough the maintenance life cycle.
-Document Issues, prepares operating instructions and compiles documentation of the operational implementations.
-Helps ensure department policies are met.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 4 years of Linux or Windows Systems Administration, hands-on experience is a must.
-Strong understanding of internet networking connectivity technologies including firewalls, TCP, DNS, DHCP, SSL, and load balancing.
-Strong understanding of most basic system administration tools and procedures; for example, BASH, MySQL, MS SQL, IIS, Apache, NLB, and ability to use backup programs, verify disk integrity, and maintain system files (groups, hosts, aliases
-Strong Understanding of Infrastructure and Hardware technologies (NAS/DAS/SAN/RAID/NIC Teaming/IDRAC
-Strong understanding of distributed file systems (OpenStack/Swift
-Strong Knowledge of Virtualization Technologies (VmWare/HIPERV/Citrix
-Education: Associates degree; technical or bachelor’s degree preferred.
-Other: Write/Speak multiple languages is a plus (Spanish/French
