The Quality Engineer will be responsible for driving and developing
consistent tests that will be used to ensure the overall quality of
applications. The right person will have proven core QA competencies and
ability to create stable automated tests, high attention to detail, and
ability to work closely with team and coach them in heavily Continuous
Deployment environments.
The Quality Engineer has a strong desire to work with team in helping them
build test coverage and raise the level of maturity in TDD. Theyuse their
curiosity to build skills that will support all the primary
responsibilities. This role is critical in keeping SPE on the forefront of
industry trends, competitive landscape and continually improve our core
application.
Typical day/week snapshot - Quality Engineer

* Develop and plan all automation unit testing activities related to
enterprise software development with enthusiasm and a natural ability to
deliver on short timelines
* Understand and translate business and technical requirements into
automated tests within a CI environment
* Work with EES, product management, and other functional teams to
own, and deliver on unit test plans
* Collaborate with different functional groups to identify gaps,
prioritize, and resolve issues
* Work with teams to comprehend, build then coach the testing and code
coverage efforts over a short period of time.
* Define test data and reports for both functional and non-functional
requirements
* Use strong communication and natural curiosity to provide trusted
and highly valuable feedback
Qualifications:
* Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related
technical or business field
* 5+ years of experience working as a QA automation engineer for
web/application development projects
* Agile development experience (Behavior Driven Development (BDD) /
Test Driven Development (TDD), SCRUM)
* Experience working with mixed onshore/offshore
* Understanding of development technologies egJava, HTML5, JavaScript,
REST, AngularJS,
* Extensive exposure to testing frameworks such as Mockito, Junit,
TestNGAppium, Mocha, Jasmine, PHPUnit
* Experience working on Eclipse IDE, IntelliJ
* Familiarity with Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Confluence, JIRA
* Strong experience with database testing (SQL/NoSQL)
* Experience working in automated test and continuous deployment
environments
* Experience in cloud application projects preferable a plus.
* Experience working on Enterprise scale software in an Agile manner.
* Ability to approach products from various points of view
* Superior communication and organizational skills
* Strong ability to work as part of a team, demonstrate initiative,
solve problems independently and supervise others
* Ability to onsite and international hours at times.
