Your Job
Design, analyze, and document mechanical components and assemblies
Foster a collaborative environment to achieve common goals with the Engineering team
Successfully communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale
Develop customer-specific product knowledge and domain expertise
Coordinate activities of team members and project stakeholders onsite, remote, and offshore
Utilize CAD software to develop concepts and designs, test and simulate designs, and validate and document the components and assemblies
Attend customer meetings and travel as required to locations domestic and international
Provide regular feedback and progress at weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings
Complete other activities as required
Your Knowledge & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field of study
Six or more years of experience using CAD software – emphasis on previous use of Creo/Pro-E
Experienced with providing leadership to small to midsized teams
Experienced with providing project management assistance – creating timelines, reporting on deliverables, ensuring that gates are passed, etc
Proficient with providing communication to create buy-in related to design rationale and build consensus with design choice and project timetables
Proficient with application of engineering theory to mechanical systems and component design
Proficient with managing time effectively; must be organized with an acute attention to detail and must be proactive for issue escalations
Excellent communication skills – written and verbal – to collaborate with project stakeholders and management onsite, remote, and offshore
Hands-on experience with PTC Creo / PRO-E
Hands-on experience with the design, development, test, validation, documentation, and integration of mechanical components and systems
Familiarity with the Transportation & Off-Highway Industry and Consumer Products Industry with emphasis on manufacturing and product research and development
Familiarity with finite element analysis using Abaqus, FEMAP, and/or NASTRAN
